I'm YongXianLu (Candy), a communication designer based in Toronto. I graduated from OCAD University with a Bachelor of Design.
During my school years, I worked as an INTERN GRAPHIC DESIGNER for several companies including Laswin Water Environment Equipment and NanFang Daily. I also worked as an ART DIRECTOR for the Chinese Student Association organization at my school.
After graduation, I went to work as a GRAPHIC DESIGNER for one of the largest and most influential Chinese tutoring organizations in Canada.
Being born and raised in China and coming to Canada has made me very attentive to design trends in both countries. It also made me realize that design has always been a constant learning process. Creativity doesn't appear out of thin air but comes from observing life and daring to integrate new things.
I love design, and I love life.
I believe that good design should have emotional power and inspiration. It should not only provide a positive message to people but also serve as a tool to expand and spread ideas.
I like what Andy Warhol once said, "The idea is not to live forever, it is to create something that will. " And maybe design can be that "something".
