CANDY LU

REBRAND  TER - TRANS EQUALITY RIGHTS

The project was to pick and rebrand a Non-profit Organization (NGO). The chosen organization was the Trans Equality Rights in Canada, whose mission is "to unite with the transgender community against violence and discrimination. Call on Canada's Parliament to pass legislation protecting gender identity without delay."

When I was researching the organization, I found that they haven't been active and information isn't up-to-date. This caused some difficulty for me to rebrand their new identity and understand what to focus on. However, this also gave me the freedom to come out with bolder ideas.

Rebrand package includes

Market Research       Brand name      Logo      Brand identity      Website       Pop up gallery event

After rebranding all the visuals, we were asked to design an event to promote our chosen organization. In this case, I have designed a pop-up gallery show. The featured faces of the paintings will be hollowed-out and replaced by words. The selected words are about how transgender feel and face-gender dysphoria. The characters' genders and the descriptions are meant to create a contrast and show what transgender is in essence.

The reason for me to use the selected paintings is that most people know the appearance of the those characters, which these would help to better explain "gender dysphoria". In addition, the pop-up gallery show is easy to raise and attract media attention which would lead to a bigger possibility of starting a trend to advertise the brand.
