BOOK DESIGN THE SHINING SCRIP
A project that we are asked to pick a scrip and used any medium or form we like to demonstrate the content of the scrip. The choice of typography, layout and art form should all reflect the scrip we picked.
"The Shining" is a story about Jack Torrance, a writer and former teacher agrees to take care of a hotel which has a long, violent past that puts everyone in the hotel in a nervous situation. While Jack slowly gets more violent and angry of his life, his son Danny tries to use a special talent-the "Shining" to inform the people outside about whatever that is going on in the hotel.
I printed the whole booklet and baked them (more than 80 pages) page by page in an oven. To imitate the violent and horrified nature of "The Shining" I added some additional elements like the bloody hand print and rusty paperclip afterwards.
